Finance Manager — Jayabima Spices Location: Kaduwela, Sri Lanka Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Founder / Managing Director About Us Jayabima Spices is a Ceylon spice processing and export company specializing in premium cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, and nutmeg for international markets, alongside a growing range of value-added products (chili powder, chili pieces, curry powder) for the local Sri Lankan market. As we expand our export footprint and pursue international certifications and buyer relationships, we're looking for a Finance Manager to bring financial discipline and strategic insight to our growing operation. Role Overview The Finance Manager will own the company's financial operations end-to-end — from day-to-day bookkeeping and cash flow management to export costing, compliance, and strategic financial planning. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a growing SME environment and wants real ownership over the finance function. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and financial record-keeping Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports Oversee cash flow, working capital, and budgeting across procurement, processing, and export operations Develop and monitor export costing and pricing models (FOB/CIF, freight, duties, certification costs) Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and financial institutions, including export financing and LC handling Ensure compliance with Sri Lankan tax regulations (VAT, income tax, EDB requirements) and statutory filings Track and reconcile costs related to certifications (e.g., organic, Control Union) and quality compliance programs Support pricing and margin analysis for new product lines and export markets Prepare financial data and projections to support award/grant applications (e.g., export incentive programs) and investor or bank discussions Identify cost efficiencies across sourcing, processing, and logistics Implement and maintain sound financial controls and reporting systems as the company scales Requirements Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; part or full qualification in ACCA/CIMA/CA Sri Lanka preferred 3+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within manufacturing, export, or FMCG/agri-business Strong understanding of Sri Lankan tax and export regulatory requirements Experience with export documentation, LCs, and foreign curr

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; part or full qualification in ACCA/CIMA/CA Sri Lanka preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within manufacturing, export, or FMCG/agri-business
  • Strong understanding of Sri Lankan tax and export regulatory requirements
  • Experience with export documentation, LCs, and foreign currency transactions is a strong plus Proficiency in accounting software and Excel/financial modeling
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate numbers into actionable business recommendations
