Assistant Accountant

Job description

Key Responsibilities * Assist in managing daily accounting and financial operations. * Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and accounting records. * Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. * Prepare costing reports and Management Information System (MIS) reports. * Perform stock valuation and inventory-related accounting activities. * Handle bank reconciliations and financial transactions. * Coordinate with banks and other financial institutions. * Maintain correspondence with financial institutions regarding banking matters. * Prepare invoices, payments, receipts and journal entries. * Monitor financial transactions related to import and trading operations. * Maintain accurate financial records using ERP systems and accounting software. * Assist with monthly and annual financial closing procedures. * Support internal and external audit activities. * Prepare financial reports for management review. * Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures. * Complete assigned accounting tasks accurately and within deadlines. Candidate Requirements * Male candidates below 35 years of age. * Degree in Accounting or Finance, or final-level qualification in CA, CIMA or ACCA. * Minimum 5 years of experience in the Import and Trading industry. * Minimum 2 years of experience in an Audit Firm. * Strong knowledge of costing and MIS reporting. * Good understanding of stock valuation and inventory accounting. * Experience using ERP systems and accounting software. * Excellent knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures. * Experience handling correspondence with banks and financial institutions. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. * Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Good communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Excellent organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. * Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. * Responsible, trustworthy and self-motivated personality.
